Our garbage receptacle has a huge horizontal crack. I've noticed others w/ similar cracks while driving around on garbage pick-day. Might this have something to do with the way the containers are picked up and then dropped from 10-15 feet in the air, instead of being placed back on the ground?
Who pays for the replacement receptacles? I know eventually I do, but when the times come for me to replace my current green buddy, how do I get a new one? The time is quickly coming.
Seriously, I think the sanitation engineer should try and place the cans down on the street instead of dropping them, especially from such a high level. Rarely do I see a can that is upright after the trash has been picked up. |

| That's a good question. I noticed one of the cans on my street has lost a wheel. I presume you can call Waste Management and just ask for a replacement. You might want to mention the rough treatment of the cans. |

We had the same problem. I phoned WM and they swapped it for a new one, no charge. The new one feels much more lightweight (body, lid, wheels). It will be interesting to see how long it lasts. |
